From Paris With Love

“Travel not to escape life, but so life wont escape you”…words I live by. Intrigued with Europe…for as long as I can remember, visiting Paris has been a dream destination for me, so I feel extremely fortunate (Thank you to my favorite son and daughter) to have had the opportunity to spend our 29th Wedding Anniversary there with my most favorite man in life ever.

Synonymous with style, romance, excitement and luxury…from the moment we landed, everything was just so…exactly as I’d imagined. Paris…the city of lights and love or as I see it; the runway model of cities…with its couture lined avenues of fashion houses and boutiques, world class museums, theaters and iconic statues, inviting sidewalk cafes at every turn-serving decadent Parisian pastries. “Oh I tell you the old-world charm is quite seductive…and I must admit…I’ve fallen hard.”

I could go on and on about our trip, but I’d rather share our experience by letting our pictures tell the story, and boy do I have some pics, if strolling is not your thing, I’ve uploaded a small video montage on my IG (@thebrooklyncharlottean) that you can enjoy. Thanks to my Google Pixel 3 (which I used to take most of my shots) it did not disappoint, and by the time your’e done enjoying the pics, you may just feel like you’ve visited Paris yourself.

Our stay at beautiful Hotel Plaza Athenee was nothing less than exquisite.
Ave Montaigne is known as one of the most exclusive and luxurious Avenues in the capital. Being home to The Hotel Plaza Athenee and the Theatre des champs Elysees as well as the all major haute-couture brands and a view of the Eiffel Tower, has garnered this Avenue its prestige.
I truly see why Paris is called “The City of Lights” after dark the City illuminates like no other, and thanks to my Google Pixel 3, I captured some amazing photos such as this one…up close and personal.

Leaving the magical spectacle

Our Anniversary Dinner at the historic and monumental Le Grand Colbert made for a magical evening.

Of over thirty Bridges that cross over the Seine River, Pont Alexander III is absolutely the most beautiful Bridge in Paris.

For me dining at Kong was a destination even before our children gifted us with this trip. The ambiance while dining Asian-fusion cuisine in the glass-room while overlooking Pont Neuf (Paris’s oldest bridge) and Louis Vuitton was definitely one of my highlights.

Love Locks; the tradition of locking personally engraved locks on the fence of the Pont Neuf Bridge and tossing the key in the Seine River sealing love forever.

The Flamme de la Liberte is a replica of the flame of the torch from the Statue of Liberty. Its was gifted to the people of France as a lasting symbol of the friendship uniting the two countries, just as the statue itself was when it was given to the United States by France. The torch later became the unofficial memorial for Diana, Princess of Wales, after her 1997 death in the tunnel beneath the Pont de l’Alma where the torch resides.
Shopping under the Umbrella Sky at Le Village Royal was so much fun.
La Boutique Francaise… a whole different kind of experience.

“Usssie’s” as you can see they’re not our thing.
Located in our Hotel, we indulged in some Haute Couture treatments for our mind, body and soul at the Dior Institute Luxury Spa and the experience was luxuriously first class service from beginning to end.
